How the series works:

The swim series is a league made up of three swims taking place on seperate days. Swimmers are awarded points for each of the races. The winner of each races is awarded 100 points, 2nd place gets 99 etc......

After the final race, swimmers' two best races are added to give total points which determine their overall league position. Prizes will be awarded based on this.

There are seperate mens and ladies categories as well as age group categories (40+ & 50+). Any overall prize winners will not be eligible for age group prizes which will pass onto the next eligible swimmer.

Swimmers can enter the "Sprint" league, ideal for less experienced swimmers  or those preferring shorter distances and people preparing for their first triathlon or the "Distance" league. This is more suited to experienced swimmers or those planning longer swims later in the summer or Ironman (full or half) Triathlons. You cannot enter both leagues and must be over 18 years of age at the first race to take part.

You do not have to complete all three races but this maximises your chances of a high points total. If you can only do one swim this is fine also.

The Brendan Currid Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the swimmer with the most points over the course of the series and this can include a third swim.

The use of any type of swim aids are not allowed except for goggles, swim hat(s)noseplug, ear plugs and wetsuit
